HDR content can look spectacular, but projectors do not have the same brightness capabilities as many flat-panel displays. madVR Envy’s HDR dynamic tone mapping analyzes video in real time to help preserve highlight detail, shadow detail, contrast and overall image balance. madVR describes its DTM 2.0 as frame-by-frame processing that optimizes each pixel at 4K60.
Instant Aspect Ratio and Black Bar Management
Many luxury theaters use large-format projection screens, including 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 scope screens. madVR Envy automatically detects aspect ratio changes and adjusts the image to fit the screen. This can reduce or eliminate distracting black bars while preserving a more immersive viewing experience.
4K, 5K and 8K Upscaling Options
Depending on the model, madVR Envy supports advanced upscaling for 4K, 5K and 8K workflows. The official madVR model comparison lists AI upscaling up to 4K60 across models, with 5K/8K upscaling available on select configurations.
