Laser Projector is a projector that uses a laser-based solid-state light engine, directly or with phosphor and other optical components, instead of a traditional replaceable lamp as its illumination source.

Laser describes the light source, not the imaging technology or overall quality. A laser-phosphor, hybrid, or multi-laser engine can illuminate DLP, LCD, LCoS, or another imaging system.
