Direct answer
Yes. Permanent outdoor speakers must be rated for their location, heat, direct sun, dust, water exposure, and mounting condition. An indoor speaker under a patio roof is not automatically suitable. Review ingress rating, published operating temperature, UV and corrosion resistance, hardware, drainage, wire and connector requirements, and service access. An IP rating addresses dust and water but does not describe every concern, especially solar heating.
Different areas of one property can require different products: a shaded ceiling, exposed landscape bed, and west-facing wall are not equivalent. Use shade where practical and keep connections out of standing water. Select by the actual site and exact manual, not a generic “outdoor” label. The system should also be commissioned at responsible levels that limit spill beyond the property.
