Openness Factor is the proportion of open area within a woven solar-shade fabric, normally expressed as a percentage. It influences view-through and light transmission, but color, weave, coating, and window conditions also shape performance.

How Openness Factor works in a connected system

A fabric with a lower openness has a tighter weave and generally limits more direct light and view, while a higher percentage tends to preserve more outward visibility.
